Understanding the pre-Andean tectonic evolution of the Subandean system remains one of the key challenges for geological modeling and exploration across the Andes.
In this context, GEOMAP S.A. participated in the AAPG Rockies and Andes Geosciences Technology Workshop 2026 held in Lima, Peru, bringing together experts working on structurally complex systems.
Our team contributed with two presentations:
Keynote – Juan I. Hernández
Multiple Thermochronometers Applied to the Quantitative Analysis of Pre-Andean Events: The Southern Subandean Fold and Thrust Belt of Bolivia – A Complex Scenario.
Technical presentation – Alejandra Dalenz Farjat
The Northern Sub-Andean Region of Bolivia: A Structural Evolution to be Resolved. Pre-Cretaceous Timing and Exploration Potential for Southern Peru.

Both studies contribute new insights into the structural evolution of the Subandean system in Bolivia and its implications for regional exploration models.
This work was developed in collaboration with LA.TE. ANDES S.A., and independent consultants.
A major platform for scientific exchange sponsored by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
